This website belongs to Float Digital Ltd, an architectural visualisation studio with studios in Manchester and Glasgow. We decide how the personal information described here is used, which makes us its “controller” under UK data protection law.

When you email or call us: your name, contact details, the organisation you work for, what you tell us about your project, and any drawings, models or other files you send.

When you browse the site, if you accept cookies: which pages you look at, how you arrived (for example from a search engine or a link), your approximate location based on your internet address, and the type of device and browser you use. We collect this with HubSpot. If you decline cookies, none of this is collected.

For every visit: like almost every website, our hosting company keeps short-lived server logs (your internet address, the page requested, your browser and the time) so the site can be kept secure and problems fixed.

There are no forms on this website, we don’t run advertising on it, and we never sell personal information.

To reply to you and work with you. When you get in touch about a project we use your details to answer, to prepare a proposal and, if we work together, to deliver the project. The law calls this our “legitimate interests” and, once there’s an agreement, “performing a contract”.

To understand how the site is used. Visitor statistics show us which work people look at and what isn’t working. We only collect these with your consent, which you give or refuse in the cookie banner and can change at any time.

To keep the site secure. Server logs help us spot and stop misuse. This is in our legitimate interests.

News about our work. We don’t send newsletters or marketing emails at the moment. If we start, we’ll only send them to people who have agreed to receive them, or to clients and professional contacts who would reasonably expect them. Every email will have an unsubscribe link, we’ll stop as soon as you ask, and we’ll update this page before we begin.

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. This site only sets analytics cookies if you accept them in the banner that appears on your first visit. Pressing “Decline” means none are set, and the site works exactly the same either way.

Our fonts, images and the video on the home page all come from our own server, so they don’t set cookies. If we ever show a video from Vimeo, it only loads when you press play, and Vimeo may then set its own cookies.

We use a small number of trusted service providers who handle information on our behalf and only as we instruct:

Hiper hosts this website in the UK. HubSpot provides our visitor statistics and keeps our record of client contacts. Microsoft provides our email. Our incoming email passes through an email security service that filters spam and malware.

We may also share information with our professional advisers (such as accountants and lawyers), or where the law requires it. We never sell personal information or share it for anyone else’s marketing.

Our website is hosted in the UK, and our HubSpot account stores its data in HubSpot’s European data centre. Some of our providers are US companies and may occasionally access or store information outside the UK. Where that happens, it’s protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK–US data bridge or approved contract terms.

Enquiries that don’t go further: we keep the emails for up to one year, so we have the history if you come back to us, then delete them.

Clients: we keep project correspondence and records for six years after a project ends, because tax and contract law require it.

Visitor statistics: HubSpot’s cookies last up to six months. Server logs: our host keeps these for a short period, normally no more than a few weeks.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a form you can take elsewhere. Where we rely on your consent, such as for cookies, you can withdraw it at any time.
